"RETURN OF THE JEDI"! This allowed him to not only be the stunt double for
BILLY DEE WILLIAMS (Lando) but also to be numerous characters from the film
that required stunts, and that includes:

Julius was the ONLY stuntman willing to dive HEAD FIRST into the Sarlac Pit
making him be in great demand on set. He's also the Biker Scout that flips
"head of heals" off the bikes in several scenes on Endor. And as silly as it
may sound, when EWOKS attack, it was required by union rules that stuntmen
be the ones attacked so every time you see a Stormtrooper or Biker Scout
getting beaten its usually Julius (or Dicky Beer and one other guy). Imagine
3 guys doing it all? HOW COOL!

Mike Grell, getting better!

Hi, everyone -

I thought it was high time I issued some kind of official statement regarding my health status, especially considering how rapidly Facebook and Twitter have spread the word and how incomplete the information has been.

WHAT HAPPENED? Somewhere around the end of July, I found a small bug bite on my right calf. On 31 July I developed flu-like symptoms and achy joints. That night I fell asleep while reading and awoke at about 4AM with a fever. Alarmingly, my right eye would not track and my first thought was STROKE. Fortunately, I quickly put myself through the stroke evaluation and passed on all counts, so I was confident it was NOT a stroke even before I arrived at Summit Pacific Medical Center, where I was admitted on August 1.

After CAT scans, MRI's, X-Rays, Ultrasounds and a spinal tap ruled out stroke, aneurism, tumors, diabetesmeningitis, MERSA, Lyme disease, and necrotizing fasceaitis, we were left with what pretty much everyone suspected from the start: CELLULITIS.

By August 3rd, my vision had returned to 100% normal, my general condition was improving and my doctors expected me to be discharged shortly. Then the wheels fell off.

It seems cellulitis is a nasty bug that, evenwhen you kill it off with antibiotics,  the dying cells produce toxins that destroy other tissue.

The short version that I'm still in the hospital (a different one after being transferred here three days ago) with a small army of specialists swarming over me like an Indy 500 pit crew. The weird thing is that I don't feel sick at all, just tired of being flat on my back. My doctors are optimistic and so am I. For the first time, we see daily improvement and I should be on my way home in a few days

Dear Derek, Anise, and the family and friends of Richard,

Dustin and I would like to offer our prayers and condolences in this time of great sorrow. We had the honor and the pleasure of meeting Richard at Planet Comicom in Kansas City. He was a wonderful man. Even though he did not feel well, he came to our dinner. He was also very personable and sweet all weekend. Everyone that met him made comments about this. We were saddened to hear of his passing, so suddenly. On behalf of the Kansas City Star Wars groups (501st, Rebel Legion, Dark Empire, R2 Builders and Mandalorian Mercs) we will be making a donation to the Peter Mayhew Foundation, in his memory. Thank you so much for giving us the chance to hang out with such a wonderful man.

At age 66, Richard Le Parmentier is one with the Force. We're deeply grateful to the many devoted fans who have posted personal remembrances of our dad as a warm, genuine person with an unparalleled joie de vivre and gift for friendship (not to mention a mean petanque player). To his fans and friends, his lines were the ultimate power in the universe. He absolutely loved traveling the world and meeting his friends and fellow Star Wars fan - whose tributes have given us all the best lines in this message. He told us many stories of the hospitality he enjoyed. He usually lived in Bath, England, but was visiting us in Austin, Texas. We feel very lucky to have been able to spend time with him on a regular basis. He was no respecter of convention, except comic conventions. Born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Richard was a talented actor and director whose career spanned four decades and dozens of projects. He edited another draft of his latest project two days before death, with its sorcerer's ways, took him from us. He has gone to the Stars, and he will be missed. We love you dad, and thank you to everyone. Love, Rhiannon, Stephanie, and Tyrone Le Parmentier.

APRIL 16, 2013: Today is a sad day indeed. It is with a heavy heart that we can confirm that actor Richard LeParmentier (best known as Admiral Motti in STAR WARS) has passed away. Derek Maki, president of Coolwaters Productions LLC, has spoken to Richard's son, Tyrone, this morning, who stated that it was sudden. The family needs some time to deal with the shock and an official statement will be made to the associated press later today. Coolwaters asks everyone to respect the family in this time of grief and to please not contact them. The Coolwaters family has lost a member of its own family and we wish Tyrone the very best.

Today we’re pleased to announce that everyone’s favorite galactic smuggler, gambler and scoundrel will temporarily leave Cloud City and board the Millennium Falcon with a course set for Disney’s Hollywood Studios, as actor Billy Dee Williams returns to Star Wars Weekends for the 2013 edition.
Williams, a fan favorite for his portrayal of Lando Calrissian in the film saga, will attend Weekend IV, June 7-9, 2013.
Lando, who is described on his official StarWars.com bio as having two weapons of choice — a blaster pistol and “a devastating smile” — betrayed the Rebellion when he made a deal with Darth Vader to capture his old friend, Han Solo. However, there was a storybook ending to the tale when he redeemed himself by later helping to free Captain Solo and assisting in the destruction of the second Death Star.
If you make plans to attend Weekend IV, I definitely suggest attending one of the “Stars of the Saga” talk shows that features Williams. It was a highlight for me at past events to hear him tell tales about his portrayal of the suave scoundrel. But be sure to get there early; his appearances will most likely be a popular gathering place for members of both the Empire and the Rebellion.
